What’s next for lockdown and universal testing?

🧪 The third round of free testing in Slovakia is scheduled in two weeks. This break is to allow health care workers, police officers and military personnel to rest.

🏡 Testing will take place in 500 communities where the number of COVID-19 infections exceeded 1% in the second phase.

The decision on the third test was made taking into account the effectiveness of the first stage.

📍 In the second testing, significantly fewer diseased people were detected. At the first stage – 1.06% of those examined had a positive result, at the second stage – 0.66%.

📍 It is important to take into account that the areas with a higher number of infected people (based on the results of the first stage) participated in the second stage. That is, these were regions with an increased risk of rapid spread of COVID-19.

The state of emergency has been extended for another 45 days, until December 30. But the curfew will end on November 15.

Igor Matovic, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, believes that universal testing will help eliminate strict measures. This means that there is every chance to avoid a crisis in both economy and medicine.

You and I are going through a very difficult period. So the only thing left to do is to follow all the recommendations. We hope that the trials of the new vaccine will be successful. In that case, we will have another tool to fight COVID-19. Let’s keep our fingers crossed ✊
