The cost of services for which the client pays to our company is indicated in the top line of each table. This price includes: consultations and development of a detailed action plan, collection and translation of all documents, communication on behalf of the client with all state authorities, coordination of the client’s arrival in Slovakia, accompanying the client to all authorities “by the hand”, responsibility for the final result. In case of refusal to grant a residence permit to the client, our company guarantees a 100% refund of the cost of our services. You can read more about it here. The other payments in the table are paid to third parties in the process of residence permit issuance. These payments are paid by the client himself. We will only tell you at the right moment where and how much to pay.

Thus, the total budget for obtaining a residence permit for a family of 3 will be:
€3,345 + €1,375 + €1,003.50 = €5,723.50.

This price does not include flight, accommodation and meals for the duration of the paperwork. Since we will do 95% of all processes ourselves, you will only need to come to the police for a few days to apply for a residence permit. This greatly reduces the cost of accommodation when collecting all the documents on your own.

The total price may also vary depending on whether you can do something yourself. For example, the client may already have rented or bought a property and can provide proof of residence in Slovakia on their own. In this way, you can save 500 euros per person on registration cards. In our example, we are looking at a situation where all processes and concerns are taken care of by our company.

If you have a different family composition, you can easily calculate the cost of the whole residence permit process for yourself based on this information. How much money do I need to have in my bank account?

According to the law on the status of foreigners in Slovakia, when applying for a residence permit, it is necessary to submit bank statements on the availability of funds to prove financial security. It is better to open accounts immediately in a Slovak bank. For our clients we provide this service, including. Funds from the account are not spent anywhere. They can be used in full at your discretion after you receive a residence card in Slovakia. The statutory minimum amounts are linked to the minimum subsistence level in the SR, which changes every year on July 01.

As of July 1, 2022, the monthly subsistence minimum in Slovakia will be 234.42 euros. We assume that we are asking for a residence permit for at least 12 months, which means that the amount in the account must be at least 234.42 x 12 months = 2,813.04 euros. Rounded off – 2,850 euros.

To ensure the entrepreneurial activity, as a sole proprietor, on the second personal account an amount equal to 20 living wages, for the director of the company – an amount equal to 100 living wages on the company account.

So as of now for a family of 3 people you need to have:

On the Guarantor’s corporate account:

from 4688,40 EUR – in case of IE registration (živnosť) or
23442,00 EUR – in case of company registration (s.r.o.)

On the Guarantor’s personal account:

EUR 2813.04 for the Guarantor,
EUR 2813.04 for the spouse,
EUR 1406.52 for a child under 18 years of age.

In our case of 3 people, when the Guarantor is a sole proprietor, the bank accounts should have:

4688.40 + 2813.04 + 2813.04 + 1406.52 = 11721.00 euros

Let us clarify that these are the minimum amounts required. We advise you to always have at least 10% more. Since the account will be deducted from the automatic fee for maintaining the account by the bank. And it can be very unpleasant when the Alien Police refuse to issue a residence permit because the account did not have enough 10 euros to the legal limit at the time of checking the accounts by the police.

Do I have to pay all at once?

In case of cooperation with our company – no. At the first stage, the client pays only for the registration of a sole proprietorship, legal address and propiska in Slovakia. We start all the processes, collect the whole package of documents. Only after the collection of the whole package the client pays 50% of the cost of the company’s services, as well as the state duty in the police when applying. After 3 months, if there is a decision on the issuance of a residence permit, the client pays the remaining 50% of the company’s services and the cost of medical examination, which must necessarily pass after receiving a residence permit card. Money will have to be deposited in the accounts before submitting the documents to the police. It is better to withdraw it completely or spend it directly from the account after receiving the residence cards.

Thus, the budget for the cost of residence permit in Slovakia is paid gradually during the whole process. With our company, the client pays in full after the decision to issue a residence permit.

Is it possible to do everything yourself?

Of course, yes. No one will forbid you to deal with the issue of obtaining a residence permit on your own. There is a lot of material on this subject on the internet. On our youtube channel, we also explain in detail each stage of the residence permit process. But you need to consider the following factors:

  • Without experience in this field, it is impossible to anticipate many pitfalls;
  • It is necessary to spend a lot of time and additional costs associated with the independent solution of all issues on site;
  • The language barrier will make it impossible to resolve a number of issues on your own without the help of an interpreter;
  • Maximizes the chance of an error that could lead to the denial of a residence permit;
  • In case of rejection, no one will refund you even part of the processing costs. In such a scenario, the greatest pity is not money, but wasted time and effort.

How do you do it right?

The most reliable way to do it right is to seek assistance in applying for a residence permit from a reliable consulting company. When choosing a company, it is important to take into account:

  • Presence of a legal entity; This can be verified by the company name in the Slovak Bypass Register.
  • How long has the company been on the market? What is its experience?
  • Does it have an office where you can come and talk to managers and management in person?
  • The presence of real reviews on independent resources, such as a company’s Google or Facebook profile;
  • Reputation, publicity and openness of the company. The more the company is public, has its own YouTube channel, Facebook and Instagram groups, the more it has to lose. In case of a dispute with the client, the company will do everything possible to solve the issue positively for the client and will not risk its reputation for the sake of saving a few thousand euros.

The main value of the service of support in obtaining a residence permit in Slovakia from a consulting company is that the immigrant receives a guarantee of a positive result and that all subtleties and details will be observed. In this case, the personal presence of the client is minimized, all processes and tasks are performed by the company. This saves enormous time and money in the case of independent collection of documents. While the company is collecting the documents, the client can continue to carry on with his business or work in his position in his country.

Each person determines for himself whether to apply for a residence permit on his own or to trust a professional company. If you have time, resources and a strong nervous system, you can do everything yourself. This will bring a great experience in your piggy bank. If the factors of guarantee, time, peace of mind for the result are important for you, then we advise you to turn to professionals.
