How much money should I have in my bank account?

According to the law on the status of foreigners in Slovakia, when applying for a residence permit, you must provide bank statements on the availability of funds to confirm the financial security. It is better to open an account directly in a Slovak bank. We provide this service for our clients, including. Funds from the account are not spent anywhere. You can use them in full amount at your own discretion after you receive your residence card in Slovakia. The statutory minimum amounts are linked to the minimum living wage in the SR, which changes every year on July 01. Thus, as of now, a family of 3 needs to have:

In the Guarantor’s company account:

4361.2 euros – in case of registration of a sole proprietorship (živnosť) or
21806 euros – in case of registration of a company (s.r.o.)

On the personal account of the Guarantor:

EUR 2616.72 – for the Guarantor,
2,616.72 euros – for the spouse,
EUR 1,308.38 – for a child under 18 years of age.

In our case of 3 people, when the Guarantor is self-employed, the bank accounts need to have:

4361.2 + 2616.72 + 2616.72 + 1308.38 = 10903.02 euros

It should be noted that these are the minimum amounts needed. We recommend that you always have at least 10% more. As the account will be deducted from the automatic account maintenance fee by the bank. It can be very annoying when the Alien Police refuses to issue a residence permit because the account is 10 euros short of the legal limit, when the police check the accounts.

Do I have to pay all at once?

In case of cooperation with our company – no. At the first stage client pays only for registration of IE, legal address and residence registration in Slovakia. We start all the processes, collect the whole package of documents. Only after all documents are collected client pays 50% of the company fee and the state duty to the police. After 3 months, if the decision to issue a residence permit, the client pays the remaining 50% of the company’s services and the cost of the medical commission, which must be taken after you receive a residence permit. The money in the accounts will need to be put before submitting documents to the police. Fully withdraw them or spend it directly from the account is better after obtaining a residence permit cards.
