The bloodiest legend

There are more than 100 different castles and fortresses in Slovakia, if we do not take into account the palaces 🏰 Some of them, unfortunately, are only ruins, though very colorful. And some are perfectly preserved to this day.

And it’s unlikely you’ve ever seen a castle without ghosts and a romantic or tragic-bloody legend 😁

Perhaps the most famous story concerns Alzbieta Bathory and Cachtice Castle.

The castle is located in the Trenčín region, in western Slovakia.

It was erected in the first half of the 13th century. And Alzbet Bathory was indeed one of the owners of the castle.

This rich and powerful woman really wanted to always stay young and beautiful. And who among us doesn’t want 😉

The mistress of the castle was famous for her methods of “rejuvenation”. The lady was clearly no stranger to sadistic tendencies and decided to resort to the bloodiest method. She simply bathed in the blood of young and beautiful girls 🙈
Some believe that dozens of girls suffered at the hands of Alzbet, others – hundreds. This is how Alzbet became known as “Dracula’s woman”.

It’s worth noting that despite her power and wealth, she was still sentenced to life imprisonment.

👻And someone still thinks her spirit roams the castle at night.

If you are not afraid of ghosts, we advise you to visit this place. The castle has a rich history and is open to tourists.

Unfortunately, now, with the pandemic, tours are not possible. But no one can stop you from putting this attraction on the list of places you’d like to visit right now 😉
