In April, the conditions for nostrification for pediatricians from Ukraine will be simplified. It is noted that such innovations are planned to be extended later to other medical specialties as well 👩⚕️
☝️ To confirm your diploma you will have to take a test (skúška spôsobilosti), which will confirm your qualification. You do not need to be proficient in Slovak, you can take the exam in Ukrainian or Russian. The test is free.
☝️ If you pass the test, you receive a special certificate. The document will enable you to begin a professional internship, which lasts 1.5 years.
☝️ You can take an additional exam and gain recognition as a general practitioner throughout the EU. You will still have to pay a fee for the additional exam. But its cost has been reduced from 1200€ to 500€ in order to make it more affordable.
Such changes, on the one hand, will help overcome the shortage of pediatricians in Slovakia. On the other hand, it will open up opportunities for doctors who were forced to leave Ukraine because of the war to settle down and adapt more quickly.
