This castle is located in the Košice region, on top of a hill with a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside.
Built-in the 13th century, Krásna Hôrka Castle has undergone many transformations over the centuries and today is a stunning testament to the architectural excellence of the past. It is included in the list of national cultural monuments of Slovakia.
Visitors can also explore the premises of the castle. The exposition is based on the original furniture and collection of the family museum. The interior of the castle kitchen and the collection of weapons and equipment from the 16th and 17th centuries are particularly attractive.

It managed to serve as both the residence of the King of Hungary 👑 and as a fortress defense during the Ottoman invasion of Europe. In the 16th century, the castle was transformed into a Renaissance-style fortress and served as a defensive structure during the Austro-Turkish wars. During the Counter-Reformation, it was also a refuge for Protestant refugees.
