Press freedom rating. Slovakia moved up 10 places

The Slovak Republic has risen 10 points in the world press freedom ranking published by Reporters Without Borders.

Slovakia is now in 17th place.

For comparison:
✅ Canada is in 15th place,
✅ Germany in 21st place,
✅ Italy in 41st place,
✅ The United States is in 45th place.

Norway, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland took the leading positions. In the last five places: North Korea, China, Vietnam, Iran, and Turkmenistan.

The Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic said that they are not going to stop there and that these results are a great motivation to work even harder in this direction.

Zuzana Chaputova, president of the Slovak Republic, wrote on her social media: “…Every journalist who provides the public with accurate and unbiased information deserves our support and protection. His freedom is our freedom, too!”

Perhaps recent years have made it especially clear how much freedom of the press affects democracy and how dangerous misinformation is. So any news like this is very encouraging!
