One’s own VS a stranger. Adjustment to a new country

“Who needs me in a foreign country! I’ll never belong here!” – sometimes, such fears serve as a strong barrier to change and moving to a new country 🪪

Of course, the process of migration involves certain difficulties. But you are not alone – many people go through it. Over time, you will find friends and become part of a new community.

A lot depends on the person himself. You can feel alien, lonely, and in your own country 🤷 And you can make interesting acquaintances, discover new favorite locations, and feel “your own” anywhere.

By the way, nowadays, “to be one’s own” doesn’t necessarily mean complete assimilation or loss of one’s own cultural identity. For example, Slovakia respects other people’s traditions, giving immigrants opportunities to preserve their own culture.

And remember 👇
✅ You don’t have to be needed by everyone around you, “your own,” to be happy. It is enough that you need yourself and your family and friends.
✅ Your value does not depend on where you live. It is in your power to become in demand and needed anywhere.

Here are some tips that can help you adjust.
⭐ Learn the language – it is the key to integrating into a new society.
⭐ Be open to new people and acquaintances.
⭐ Join communities that interest you.
⭐ Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
⭐ Give yourself time. Adapting to a new country is a process that takes time and effort.

Believe in yourself, and you will succeed 💪
