New rules for entering Slovakia from 17 February 2021

From 17 February, new amendments on the rules for entering Slovakia come into force.

🌏 Regardless of the country from which you are travelling to Slovakia, you need:

🔸register before entry at ► http://korona.gov.sk/ehranica;
🔸go immediately to self-isolation;
🔸do a PCR test no earlier than day 8 after arrival.

Who is exempt from the test?

► Children under 10 years of age.
► People coming from other EU countries will have the option not to take the test. But then you have to serve 14 days in isolation in case of absence of Covid-19 symptoms. A dubious alternative, of course 😉

In what cases will the general rules not apply?

1️⃣ There remains a list of persons who can enter without isolation and testing. These are freight and passenger drivers, critical infrastructure workers, transients and a few others. If a full list is needed, see §4 in source 👉 https://bit.ly/3dd39tw

2️⃣ For students of various educational institutions and persons who have entered for the purpose of caring for a loved one, everything remains unchanged. However, the list of sports purposes has been extended (details in §8, paragraphs j and k).

3️⃣ For people living in neighbouring Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and working in Slovakia or vice versa, it will only be necessary to present a negative test. But antigenic or PCR analyses are now allowed no older than 7 days. And of course, we are talking about those who have an official employment contract or a business permit.

4️⃣ You have the option to reduce the isolation to 1 day by taking a PCR test on arrival in Slovakia at your own expense if:

► You live in Slovakia, but you work or do business in EU countries or vice versa. This refers specifically to those EU countries that are not included in the 4 neighbouring countries.

► You reside in Slovakia, you are an EU citizen and you have a confirmation from a Slovak doctor that you have had Covid-19 not earlier than 3 last months or you have been vaccinated and at least 2 weeks have passed since the last dose. \ You are a citizen of the EU and you have a confirmation from a Slovak doctor that you have had Covid-19 not earlier than 3 last months or you have been vaccinated and at least 2 weeks have passed since the last dose.

But for the 4️⃣ point, in addition to the test in Slovakia, it is necessary to register on the website + to have a fresh antigen test not older than 48 hours or PCR not older than 72 hours on entry ⏰
