How to obtain citizenship in Slovakia?
You can apply for Slovak citizenship by naturalisation if 👇👇
✅ you have been continuously residing in Slovakia on the basis of a permanent residence permit for at least 8 years immediately before submitting the application. Or you have been continuously residing in Slovakia for at least 10 years and you already have a permanent residence permit at the time of application for citizenship.
This period may be shorter for certain individuals.
For example, if you have been granted asylum for a minimum of 4 years before applying for citizenship. Or you are married to a Slovak citizen and have been married for at least 5 years.
✅ You do not have a criminal record and there are no criminal, deportation or asylum proceedings against you.
✅ You have confirmed oral and written knowledge of the Slovak language and general knowledge of Slovakia (for persons aged 14 and over).
✅ You comply with the laws and fulfil your duties as a foreigner according to the legal order of the Slovak Republic.
