Already from today, December 19, stricter restrictions have been imposed in Slovakia due to the pandemic.
There will be a curfew from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 in the morning. This means that we will have to restrict movement somewhat to reduce the spread of Covid-19. For now, the curfew is in place until December 29th.
What activities are allowed?
Visiting stores to buy basic necessities: food, medicines, medical supplies, hygiene items, pet and child care food and supplies.
Travel to work and/or for business and similar activities, including visits to a lawyer, notary, arbitrator, etc..
Going out to buy newspapers
and other printed matter, to the post office, or to receive items purchased online.
Trips to the nearest optician, insurance company, bank or veterinary clinic.
Visits to a health care provider for emergency or routine care, preventive care, or Covid-19 testing ![]()
You are allowed to accompany your loved one in need of care and child.
It is acceptable to be away from home for individual outdoor sports and outdoor activities.
Funerals, weddings and worship services are also off the list. But there are limits on the number of people at an event.
Travel is permitted in the case of caring for a loved one or traveling abroad.
Car parts, tire and towing stores, car and bike services, ski services and rental stores are also excluded. Stores for live fish and outdoor Christmas trees
will also be available.
Closed and all trade, service enterprises, as well as establishments that until now could open under special conditions (theaters, hairdressers, driving schools, artificial swimming pools, fitness centers).
During the holidays, “senior hours of operation” are changing. On December 24th and 31st, there will be hours from 9:00 to 10:00 for people over 65.
Of course, such measures, like everything associated with Covid-19, are not particularly pleasant. But they don’t seriously damage daily activity and health either.
Take care of yourself and your loved ones ![]()
