Sunday night’s news was the ruling to approve another universal test in Slovakia ![]()
On the one hand, there has been a short-term, but positive trend after the first tests. The government is convinced that even this respite can be beneficial in terms of relieving the pressure on hospitals and easing the lockdown.
But testing also has another purpose – to obtain more accurate statistical data by region.
The Minister of Health announced that after that all districts of Slovakia will be divided according to the epidemic situation into 37 worst and 36 best regions. This information will serve as a basis for planning further tactics.
Voluntary testing will take place in 2 phases.
18th to 26th January.
27 January to 4 February.
What disadvantages are there in terms of freedom of movement for us ![]()
From 27 January, even for a walk in the countryside, accompanying a child, travelling to work, abroad or returning from abroad, it will be necessary to present a negative test for Covid-19 taken from 18 January. From 3 February, you will have to present a test taken no earlier than on the 27th.
Who, in addition to those tested, will be able to avoid more restrictive measures?
Children under 15 years of age and people over 65.
Covid-19 survivors. No more than 3 months must have elapsed since the disease was registered (of course, this must be documented).
Those who receive a second dose of the vaccine should have at least 14 days to complete the vaccine.
What benefits will appear for the listed individuals and those tested![]()
Restrictive measures will be relaxed. It will even be possible to attend mass events, and there will be greater freedom of movement (to be negotiated separately for each group of people). Children will be able to return to school.
The regulation itself with all the nuances can be viewed here

There is an assumption that in the end not all districts will take part in the second wave of testing, as was the case last time. But we’ll see, we’ll keep an eye on further news.
