Earlier it was announced that the curfew in Slovakia would last until 29 December and the emergency until at least 10 January 
Today the National Rada approved the extension of the state of emergency. This means that, with the parliament’s consent, the state of emergency will remain in force and we can expect a reintroduction of the curfew.
In the next few days we will already know the government’s decision on this issue 
Meanwhile, vaccination against Covid-19 is gaining momentum 
In addition to medical personnel, many Slovak officials have already received the drug. Among them are the President of Slovakia, the Chief of General Staff, the European Commissioner, the Ministers of Transport, Culture, Construction, Justice and other top officials of the country.
Unfortunately, the effectiveness of the vaccination will not be able to be assessed immediately, but we will wait for positive news on the pandemic.
And we remind you that you should not panic if your residence permit in Slovakia expires! The conditions of the state of emergency are relaxed.
Your residence does not expire if your temporary, permanent or tolerated residence document ceases to be valid during the crisis situation or within one month after the end of the crisis situation. It will be extended up to 2 months after the end of the emergency.
If you have a residence permit or permanent residence permit for 5 years, but you are abroad during the emergency, there is a way out. You can apply for renewal of your residence permit or permanent residence permit for an unlimited period of time at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic or Consulate General.
If you are unable to apply for a residence permit or to reapply for a residence permit during a crisis situation, you can do so after 90 days. Of course, if you did not leave the territory of Slovakia before submitting the application and did not realise when the emergency itself was far behind you.
If you have a residence permit for entrepreneurship and need to apply for an extension next year, you do not have to fulfil the minimum income or profit requirement for that year. But you must provide proof that your business has been affected by the crisis situation.
