Lockdown is not an impediment to celebration!

The curfew in Slovakia has been extended until 10 January. The state of emergency will remain in force until 6 February 2021 📅

Pandemics and lockdowns rage around the world, but life goes on.

🥩 Pork cuts are still popular on the shelves of Slovak shops, transport still runs with enviable regularity.

You can still admire flocks of ducks, swan pairs, Nile geese and other wildlife on numerous lakes in Bratislava and throughout Slovakia.

🏃‍♀️ The Slovaks still show a great enthusiasm for sports and running in all weathers, and the neighbour’s grandfather hurries at 7 a.m. for a morning walk with his dog – a mix of corgi and European shepherd.

Incredibly tasty and inexpensive Italian and Slovak champagne with tangerines and other goodies have not disappeared either, so that the New Year’s festive table to be 😁

Here it is not customary to sing holiday songs, play loud music 🎶 or audibly laugh, rattle, bang on the radiators to congratulate your neighbour. But a quiet, revitalising holiday with your family – what could be better!?
