Universal free testing in Slovakia is already bringing the first results 🙂 🙂
If you consider the figures of the last days (Wednesday, Thursday), it was possible to achieve a 30% decrease in the number of new Covid-19 cases compared to the middle of last week 📉
The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Igor Matovic, thanked all the participants. He noted that it was not the work of individuals, but the work of millions. This success was due to the contribution of everyone.
Moreover, the forecasts without testing, even against the background of the introduction of a partial lockdown, were disappointing. This we can now observe on the example of neighboring Czech Republic. The country has been in a state of emergency since October 5 and a lockdown has been declared, but the statistics on the number of new cases is not comforting 😔
In Slovakia, however, we are seeing a decrease in new cases of Covid-19. The authorities believe that the second stage of testing will help to further reduce the increase in the number of infected people. After all, such testing is an excellent tool for early detection of those who have become ill, including those with wiped-out forms.
🚗 New rules at the border are also being introduced. Now all those entering by land from Ukraine will have to take a free Covid-19 test at the border crossing point.
Such an ordinance will take effect as early as November 9 📅 But the measure will not affect the need for home self-isolation and retaking the test no earlier than the fifth day after arrival.
Hopefully, aiming for prevention and earlier detection of those who fall ill will really help to deal with the second wave of the pandemic.
Take care of yourself and your loved ones 👨👩👧👦
