Before signing the contract, pay attention to the possibility of registration at the address. Not all landlords agree to provide it. However, if you are applying for a residence permit or its extension, registration is mandatory. 
Utility bills are usually paid once a year. And it is often already included in the monthly rent. But sometimes it is included separately, so it is worth checking in advance.
Most owners ask for a deposit in the form of a 1 month’s fee. Be sure to include this when planning your rental expenses.
Most often the accommodation is rented with furniture and household items. But if you want to furnish the flat yourself, you can also choose the option without furniture 
Property rental prices in Bratislava itself, in the suburbs and further away from the capital vary greatly. Sometimes by a factor of 1.5 to 2. Think about which factors you prioritise the most:
– city infrastructure or picturesque mountains right outside your window,
– whether you need a kindergarten, school, university nearby,
– whether you would like a house or a flat,
– in what price range, etc.
