The Slovak Republic ranked 34th in happiness in a recent UN study ![]()
The residents of Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Switzerland and the Netherlands were recognised as the happiest. Afghanistan, Rwanda and Zimbabwe were at the very tail end of the rating.
Kazakhstan ranked 45th, Belarus 75th. Russia followed at 76th, Ukraine at 110th.
The ranking was compiled based on research by sociologists and economic indicators.
What data was taken into account?
Results from a resident survey of over 3,000 people from each country.
Real GDP per capita.
Projected life expectancy.
Level of corruption, social freedom and some other indicators.
Of course, the concept of happiness is very subjective and transitory. But if we compare the results of sociological and economic indicators, we can notice a certain trend.
