This means you cannot use a cell phone before entering a crosswalk or while crossing it in a way that distracts you. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Important: This doesn\u2019t mean that using a phone while walking is automatically prohibited at all times. However, if you approach a crosswalk, look at your screen, read a message, scroll through your feed, or walk while wearing headphones and fail to pay attention to the road, that alone can be grounds for a fine. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An on-the-spot fine may be 50 euros. If the matter is resolved not on the spot but through separate proceedings, the amount may be 100 euros. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, in some cases, you can argue and prove that you didn&#8217;t break the rules. But why let it come to an argument? <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The simplest rule: Before crossing the street, put your phone away, look both ways, and make sure drivers can see you and have enough time to stop.
