{"id":14869,"date":"2021-01-15T11:06:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-15T08:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slovakiagarant.com\/changes-at-the-borders-with-austria-and-ukraine\/"},"modified":"2025-06-04T16:35:26","modified_gmt":"2025-06-04T13:35:26","slug":"changes-at-the-borders-with-austria-and-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slovakiagarant.com\/en\/changes-at-the-borders-with-austria-and-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"Changes at the borders with Austria and Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regime on the external land border of the Slovak Republic with Ukraine will change from 15 January from 7 am.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tf3\/1\/16\/1f539.png\" alt=\"&#x1F539;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> Vyshne-Nemetske &#8211; Uzhgorod border crossing<br\/>Will be open for passenger and freight traffic, but will be inaccessible for pedestrians and cyclists due to inadequate infrastructure on the Ukrainian side.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tf3\/1\/16\/1f539.png\" alt=\"&#x1F539;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> Border crossing Ubnya &#8211; Maly Berezny<br\/>Open continuously for passenger and freight traffic up to 3.5 tonnes, pedestrians and cyclists.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tf3\/1\/16\/1f539.png\" alt=\"&#x1F539;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> Border crossing Ve\u013ek\u00e9 Slemence &#8211; Mali Slemenci<br\/>Remains closed until further notice.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t4a\/1\/16\/1f1e6_1f1f9.png\" alt=\"&#x1F1E6;&#x1F1F9;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> There are changes from the Austrian-Slovak border as well.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Already from 14 January, 2 border crossing points with Slovakia will be closed: the Freedom cycle bridge and the crossing Angern an der Marsch &#8211; Zagorska Wes.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And from 15 January, everyone arriving in Austria will have to undergo mandatory online registration and go into a 10-day home quarantine. The rule is also relevant for EU countries. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Registration is not required:<br\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t72\/1\/16\/1f538.png\" alt=\"&#x1F538;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/><br\/>if you regularly cross the border to work in the border area,<br\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t72\/1\/16\/1f538.png\" alt=\"&#x1F538;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> you are in Austria in transit,<br\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t72\/1\/16\/1f538.png\" alt=\"&#x1F538;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> you have a family emergency.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Citizens travelling from Australia, Finland, Greece, Iceland, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore and the Vatican can also avoid the mandatory quarantine upon entering Austria.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nowadays, the situation at the borders changes frequently due to the pandemic <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tb6\/1\/16\/2708.png\" alt=\"&#x2708;&#xFE0F;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> So we advise you to make sure to check all the details of your itinerary before travelling!
