{"id":14702,"date":"2021-01-15T11:05:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-15T08:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slovakiagarant.com\/residence-permit-on-the-basis-of-business-sole-proprietorship-or-company\/"},"modified":"2025-05-21T14:48:37","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T11:48:37","slug":"residence-permit-on-the-basis-of-business-sole-proprietorship-or-company","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slovakiagarant.com\/en\/residence-permit-on-the-basis-of-business-sole-proprietorship-or-company\/","title":{"rendered":"Residence permit on the basis of business: sole proprietorship or company?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Business residence permit in Slovakia is one of the most popular routes to permanent residence and citizenship in the EU <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t3f\/1\/16\/1f30d.png\" alt=\"&#x1F30D;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are 2 types of grounds for a business residence permit:<br\/>&lt;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t72\/1\/16\/1f538.png\" alt=\"&#x1F538;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> &gt; registering you as an entrepreneur (like a sole proprietor) or<br\/>&lt;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t72\/1\/16\/1f538.png\" alt=\"&#x1F538;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/>&gt; starting a company.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What are their differences? And which is better to choose  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t4c\/1\/16\/2753.png\" alt=\"&#x2753;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t33\/1\/16\/2705.png\" alt=\"&#x2705;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> The amount in the account required to obtain a residence permit.<br\/>For a sole proprietor there must be 5,000 \u20ac in the company account and 2,600 \u20ac in the personal account. For a company, the personal account must also have 2,600 \u20ac, but the company account must have 22,000 \u20ac. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t33\/1\/16\/2705.png\" alt=\"&#x2705;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> How much tax do I have to pay to extend my residence permit?<br\/>Entrepreneur &#8211; at least 300 \u20ac per accounting year. Firm &#8211; at least 3,500 \u20ac per accounting year. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t33\/1\/16\/2705.png\" alt=\"&#x2705;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> For the entrepreneur and for the company, the tax on profit before turnover<br\/>100.000 \u20ac\/year is 15 %. If the turnover exceeds 100,000 \u20ac\/year, the company pays 21% and the entrepreneur 19%. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But! For companies, another 7% is added when dividends are withdrawn. And for entrepreneurs 71 \u20ac\/month for insurance + 150 \u20ac\/month pension contributions if the income for the past year exceeds 6000 \u20ac.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For entrepreneurs with children, unlike company owners, there is a tax bonus of 350 \u20ac\/year for each child <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tab\/1\/16\/1f476.png\" alt=\"&#x1F476;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t33\/1\/16\/2705.png\" alt=\"&#x2705;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/>Firms can only withdraw money in the form of dividends or through business expenses supported by documentation. There are no restrictions for sole proprietorships. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t33\/1\/16\/2705.png\" alt=\"&#x2705;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> An entrepreneur is entitled to state insurance. The obligatory 71 \u20ac\/month is paid for this. At the same time, all children of the entrepreneur up to the age of 18 automatically receive state insurance without any additional costs. The directors of the company are not entitled to state insurance, but must have commercial insurance.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t33\/1\/16\/2705.png\" alt=\"&#x2705;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> The number of directors in a firm may be up to 50 persons. For a sole proprietorship, only the entrepreneur himself. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t33\/1\/16\/2705.png\" alt=\"&#x2705;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"\/> \u0418\u043d\u0434\u0438\u0432\u0438\u0434\u0443\u0430\u043b\u044c\u043d\u044b\u0439 \u043f\u0440\u0435\u0434\u043f\u0440\u0438\u043d\u0438\u043c\u0430\u0442\u0435\u043b\u044c \u043e\u0442\u0432\u0435\u0447\u0430\u0435\u0442 \u0432\u0441\u0435\u043c \u0441\u0432\u043e\u0438\u043c \u0438\u043c\u0443\u0449\u0435\u0441\u0442\u0432\u043e\u043c.
