{"id":10679,"date":"2023-01-21T14:21:29","date_gmt":"2023-01-21T11:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slovakiagarant.com\/?p=10679"},"modified":"2025-04-22T17:10:17","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T14:10:17","slug":"when-you-dont-need-a-work-permit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slovakiagarant.com\/en\/when-you-dont-need-a-work-permit\/","title":{"rendered":"When you don&#8217;t need a work permit?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When applying for a job in Slovakia, a foreigner usually needs to get:<br>\ud83d\udccc a work permit or<br>\ud83d\udccc confirmation of job availability (see previous post).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, there are cases where this is not required! What situations are we talking about?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 You have a permanent residence permit in Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 You have a residence permit on reunification, 9 months have passed since it was granted and you lived in Slovakia during that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 you are a relative of a holder of a blue card or a citizen of an EU member state who has the right to reside in Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 You have a residence permit for studies. Only in this case, the working hours for all employers do not exceed 10 hours\/week or 20 hours\/week if you are a university student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 You have successfully completed secondary school or higher education in Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You have been granted asylum (azyl), supplementary protection (doplnkov\u00e1 ochrana) or temporary asylum (do\u010dasn\u00e9 \u00fato\u010disko).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 you are employed on the basis of an international treaty signed by Slovakia. It stipulates that you do not need a work permit to employ a third-country national.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 You ensure on the basis of a trade contract:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>supply goods or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>carry out installation, warranty, or repair work,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You carry out work connected with the installation of systems of production devices, and programming work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this case, the period of your employment or business trip to carry out work must not exceed a total of 90 days in a calendar year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 You work in the field of international transportation and have been sent by your foreign employer to carry out work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2705 You have applied for an extension of your residence permit, which will allow you to work in Slovakia, for sufficient time before it expires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are a number of rarer cases where you do not need a work permit either.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When applying for a job in Slovakia, a foreigner usually needs to get:\ud83d\udccc a work permit or\ud83d\udccc confirmation of job availability (see previous post).
